Description
In celebration of America 250!, the Weatherford Chapter, NSDAR, will dedicate a Revolutionary War Patriot Plaque on June 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial at Soldier Springs Park, located at 109 Thrush Street in Weatherford, Texas. The public is invited to attend this special ceremony honoring the Patriots of the American Revolution and the enduring legacy of service and sacrifice.

The chapter collaborated with the City of Weatherford, local historical societies, and the Parker County Heritage Society, which provided grant funding for the plaque and ceremonial expenses. County historical societies, veteran organizations, and community members are invited to participate in this meaningful observance.

As part of the ceremony, Parker County Gold Star Families will dedicate a memorial brick honoring the fallen heroes of Operation Epic Fury. Susan Johnston, State Regent of the Texas Society, DAR, will serve as keynote speaker, joined by representatives from the city, county, and Parker County Heritage Society.

Guests will also enjoy America 250! themed refreshments, including commemorative cookies and fans, as the community gathers to honor the nation’s founding and those who have served to protect its ideals.

Event is free and open to the public.
