Description
“Stars, Stripes and Stories” will engage children and families in an interactive exploration of our nation’s founding. Members of the Margaret Montgomery Chapter, NSDAR will host five hands-on stations, including patriotic story time with a DAR member in Colonial attire; a craft activity; a collaborative community mural and opportunity to sign the Declaration of Independence; and a themed scavenger hunt—bringing the Revolutionary era to life! Our friends from the Sons of the American Revolution and neighboring DAR chapters will present a trunk show of Colonial artifacts.

A featured book display highlighting the Texas America 250! Reading Challenge will encourage families to continue learning and exploring American history beyond the event. All children participating in the scavenger hunt will receive a prize and be entered into a drawing for a larger prize! This event is free and open to the public.
