We Hold These Truths
The program features reflections from Thomas Jefferson and John Adams on the decisions that shaped a nation, with special appearances by Phillis Wheatley and Mercy Otis Warren. A British soldier provides perspective on England’s stance toward the Colonies, and Colonel John Nixon delivers the first public reading of the document, as he did in 1776.
Guests will be invited to engage in thoughtful discussion throughout the program. As the performance unfolds, attendees may enjoy cakes, tea-poached pears, savory treats, and specially prepared beverages.
Two sittings will be offered at $40 per ticket, one at 1pm, the second at 4pm. Proceeds will support the historic preservation of the building, specifically the restoration of wood surrounding its windows. Please reserve by May 1st.
