Historical Significance:
In February 23, 1934, one of the daughters of an old Victoria family and a group of her friends began the official steps to organize a Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Genevieve Power Stevenson was elected Organizing Regent, and on September 14, 1936, a Charter was granted. Built by her father in 1894. She donated this home to DAR,UDC and DRT who own it today.
Acknowledgements: All owner organizations meet at the Power Home and it is open to the public for special tours.This home will be on the tour of Historic Homes in April 2015. Featured in July 2002 National DAR Magazine.
The property is owned by the Guadalupe Victoria Chapter, plus the James Fannin Chaper of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and the William P. Rogers Chapter 44, of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

- Marker Text: Built in 1894 for Edward Power. Significant for its columns, wide porches, wood trim. Given in 1960 by Mrs. James W. Stevenson, daughter of Power, to Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Republic of Texas and Daughters of the Confederacy. Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1966.

A garage apartment and the upstairs of this have been rented for income. The three organizations, DAR,UDC and DRT donate the rest of the money to maintain this property and currently renovating upstairs. This property is rented to the public for functions.
