Historical Significance:
Two log cabins c 1790, blockhouse c 1770, one-room African-American School c 1870, church c 1885, outbuildings were in danger of falling in at their original locations. Owners did not want to preserve them. Dianne Culbertson, Sarah Jane Armstrong, Stella Wallace, Henry Laurens Chapter DAR members founded the Gray Court-Owings Historical Society and led the group in moving and preserving these buildings.
Who is Buried Here?
Early Gray Court residents. Six Confederate and one Union Soldier who stayed here and married. Their two year old daughter is also buried there.

Current Owner: Gray Court-Owings Historical Society
Acknowledgements: Henry Laurens Chapter DAR members are the officers of the Gray Court-Owings Historical Society. They maintain the property, give tours, do advertisement, sponsor testivals and oversee the use of the property

Donations. Majority of funding to restore the buildings provided by DAR member Dianne Culbertson, who is President of the Gray Court-Owings Historical Society. Other DAR members Sarah Jane Armstrong and Stella Wallace are Vice-President and Secretary of the GCO Historical Society.
