 The National Society is seeking a full time Documents/Data Entry Specialist to work in the Data Entry Office of the Registrar—the department charged with processing genealogical data for membership.

 Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Accurately input various data sets into our databases and systems.
  • Handle confidential information with utmost security and discretion.
  • Sort and scan genealogical documents into OnBase software.
  • Perform real time quality control on data entry and scanned images.
  • Categorize application papers based on established criteria.
  • Correspond with membership regarding incorrectly prepared applications.

 Job Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a records management or high-volume document handling department/center (not a copying center) conducting data entry and scanning to process records, documents, manuscripts, or research materials.
  • Must be exceptionally detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently with a high degree of accuracy, and proofread work product quickly and precisely.
  • Ability to work independently, and stay focused on tasks.
  • High level of computer literacy, which should include scanning equipment and database systems.  Preference will be given to prior iMIS database and OnBase knowledge.
  • Ability to compose professional/business correspondence.
  • Knowledge or interest in genealogy or history is a plus.

Limited overtime hours throughout the year; however, must be available to work during designated week for annual meeting.

Ultimate hiring salary will be dependent upon candidate’s experience and knowledge.
