Marian Anderson Legacy Fund

Donations to the Marian Anderson Legacy Fund are used to support projects, programs, and other initiatives that promote the legacy of Marian Anderson including funding for a new DAR scholarship. A legendary singer and inspiration for civil rights, Marian Anderson’s legacy is forever intertwined with the DAR and we are honored to celebrate her memory. DAR Pathway of the Patriots – Promoter

Donations will be used to fund the Pathway of the Patriots project and to create and maintain the companion online educational resources to accompany the project. $100 minimum to earn a pin, but all “Promoter” donations of any size toward the project will receive Heritage Club credit. Donate Now.

DAR Pathway of the Patriots – Patriot

Donations will be used to honor the memory and spirit of the men and women who achieved American Independence through the DAR Pathway of the Patriots project. All donations of any amount toward the direct sponsorship of a specific Pathway of the Patriots Tree qualify. In order to be eligible, donors must complete Pathways of the Patriots Tree adoption paperwork prior to making their donations and must meet the $3,000 minimum for the tree, either as an individual or collectively with a group of individuals. Donations to Friends of the Library support the purchase of special equipment, furniture, out-of-print or special books, and other important materials for new and existing library resources and programs. Originally established in 1983 to upgrade specific infrastructure in the NSDAR Library, donations to DAR Library Life Member now support the important work of the Friends of the Library initiatives, and are recognized with a distinct pin. Friends of Seimes Technology Center

Donations to Friends of Seimes Technology Center are used to support the Library’s online subscription costs for certain genealogical databases, and to expand and strengthen the DAR Library’s collection of microfilm and microfiche (microforms) useful for genealogical research and verification of membership applications.  With increasing access to this information through the internet, donations to this fund will continue to provide resources to an ever growing number of researchers. During this time of increased applications and overall interest in DAR membership, donations to Friends of Genealogy support the work of the Office of the Registrar General and the Genealogy Department as they verify record numbers of applications and supplementals, and guide prospective members on qualifying documentation. Friends of Americana Collection

Friends of American History 

Since 2003, the American History Essay Contest continues to provide opportunities for DAR to call attention to the importance of American history.  Donations to Friends of American History provide important funding for these nation-wide contests. NSDAR Archives Collection

Maintained by the Office of the Historian General, the Archives houses the inactive records created in the course of business by the National Society.  Holdings include correspondence, meeting minutes, project files, photographs, and objects, such as DAR pins.  Donations to the NSDAR Archives Collection are used to acquire material and conserve the collection, the sole repository of NSDAR history. Established to support the National Society’s educational objective by providing funding or grants to support educational initiatives or programs for young and old, other than the Kate Duncan Smith DAR School, DAR-approved schools, Bacone College, Chemawa Indian School, and Indian Youth of America, Inc. Friends of American Indian Scholarship

Native Americans have helped shape our nation through their hardships of survival, religious ceremonies, and social and political contributions.  Donations to Friends of American Indian Scholarship support the two Indian Schools, Bacone and Chemawa. American Indian Fund

The American Indian Fund has been established to go beyond the scholarship needs in the American Indian community to provide funding for Bacone College, Chemawa Indian School as well as to provide financial assistance grants for facilities, student needs, educational programs and opportunities. Friends of DAR Scholarship

Donations to Friends of DAR Scholarship support the variety of scholarships NSDAR rewards through our DAR Scholarship Committee.  Scholarship applicants must be citizens of the United States and must attend, or plan to attend, an accredited college or university in the United States. Friends of DAR Schools

The DAR schools encompass a variety of programs promoting education to students, including those with attention deficit disorder, dyslexia, adult illiteracy and children in family crises.  Through donations to Friends of DAR Schools, we also serve thousands of other eager students, from pre-school through college, who need a place to learn to fulfill their potential. DAR Project Patriot

Donations to DAR Project Patriot support America’s service personnel in current conflicts.  At the national level, DAR support is focused on women serving in the military, military families, and wounded military personnel. Friends of Junior American Citizens

Donations to Friends of Junior American Citizens support furthering American school children’s appreciation of the principles of our democratic government and for our great country, through clubs and contests. Friends of Property Maintenance
