The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, a non-profit women’s membership organization located in Washington DC, has a full-time opportunity in our DAR Insignia Store for an Operations Specialist.  Our DAR Insignia Store sells jewelry quality pins and related items to members across multiple sales channels.  

This position performs a variety of key tasks including planning and executing pop-up shops, ensuring day-to-day communications are clear and cohesive, reviewing daily orders, processing store invoices, and assisting in the evaluation of procedures to ensure business methods are efficient and effective.

This position would be ideal for someone with experience in a retail environment, but a strong desire to learn the business is key.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Performs a variety of office administration duties, which includes reporting and information tracking, scheduling meetings and travel, and overseeing office supply purchasing.

  • Drafts, proofreads, and edits correspondence, reports, and documents.

  • Organizes and facilitates pop-up shops by working with a variety of groups to ensure materials are delivered and inventory levels will support on-site sales.

  • Assists in the evaluation of existing business processes to ensure high level operations.

  • Maintains our invoicing system to ensure data integrity.

  • Assisting our invoicing system to ensure data integrity.

  • Assisting in the onboarding process for new employees.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 - 4 years of experience in an administrative support role in an office or retail environment.

  • Excellent writing and communication skills.  Demonstrated ability to write and edit materials and documents.

  • Must have the ability to interact with a variety of individuals at all levels.

  • Strong computer skills with a good working knowledge of MS Office and spreadsheet software, especially the use of Excel or other reporting tools.

  • Ability to travel to off-site conferences and provide support to off-site sales.

  • Highly detail oriented and able to move from one task to another as priorities change.
