Historical Significance:
Built in 1902, by C.W. Hillhouse for his mother Mrs. Amanda H. Mangham. C.W. served as Mayor of Sylvester and built many of the homes and businesses in town including the First Baptist Church. His half-sister Mary Mangham inherited the home upon the death of her mother. She was a Regent of Barnard Trail Chapter in the 1920's and the home remained in the family until 1973 when it was sold to Elizabeth Ford Leary a member of Barnard Trail Chapter. At her death it was left to the Chapter to serve as a chapter house.

Funded By:
Initial gift included monies for renovations in interior, wiring updates and a new roof. Yard sales, bake sales, and sales of chapter publications help fund maintenance. In addition, the Worth County Historical Society holds their meetings in the house and contribute to its upkeep.
