Historical Significance:
This plaque is on the First Chatham Bank Building (Telfair Branch) in Telfair Square. There was formerly an Inn at Barnard and State Streets in Savannah, GA where George Washington lodged during his Southern Tour in 1791. This tablet was placed in commemoration of the bicentenary of Washington's birth by The Daughters of the American Revolution in Savannah - 1932
Acknowledgements: The Boonesborough Chapter provides liability insurance for the property and is working on a plan that will ensure future maintenance and development.
