Historical Significance:

Fort Washington was built in 1789 to protect early settlers in the Northwest Territory during the Symmes Purchase. Named in honor of George Washington and used by Gen. Josiah Harmar and Gen. Arthur St. Clair. Stone replica of a blockhouse.
