Acknowledgements: The Anna Asbury Stone Chapter is planning to have a re-dedication of the monument in 2026 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of its placement. Placement of an historical marker is planned for the future.

Historical Significance:
The monument is located on private property that at one time that is the site of the Cambridge Union Train Depot. The Depot is an historic building and is now home to a private business. The monument is located next to the Depot and marks the approximate spot where the first ferry operated in the Northwest Territory in 1798 crossed Wills Creek. It is also the site of the first dwelling built on Zane's Trace in what is now Guernsey County. The monument acknowledges the site of the covered bridge that spanned Wills Creek on the National Road from 1828-1913.

The location is now privately owned, but well maintained by the owner. The train depot houses a private business. The Anna Asbury Stone Chapter, NSDAR has permission to access to the property to clean and maintain the positive appearance of the monument.
